Mairi’s back at work in her island garden, embracing the joys and challenges of growing in the Hebrides and learning from other passionate growers along the way.

It’s Mairi Gillies’s second year growing in her garden on the island of Lewis. Last year, we saw Mairi start to develop the garden, a large space surrounding her new home which was in need of some TLC. Although Mairi’s an experienced horticulturalist, creating a garden on a Hebridean island with its unique weather challenges was a new experience for her.

In series two, we follow Mairi’s progress as she further develops the garden and visits fellow green-fingered enthusiasts who have tips and inspiration aplenty.
